CSI Membership
Core Members of the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) include cement companies who are also members of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. They manage the CSI, maintain the CSI Charter (which identifies company commitments and responsibilities), help define and fund its work program, and invite new members. At the present time, there are ten Core Members.

Participating Members include cement companies who may or may not be members of the WBCSD. They agree to follow the terms of the CSI Charter, implementing identified good practices at their operating facilities. They make a modest contribution to the CSI budget. They may (but are not obliged to) participate in individual task forces responsible for elements of the work program. Participating members are invited to join the CSI by the Core Members. At the present time there are seven Participating Members.

Project Partners include other organizations (not cement producers) that wish to participate in the CSI Task Forces and bring special knowledge to the work program. Project Partners are by invitation of the CSI Core Members. At the present time there are 4 Project Partners; Cembureau (Brussels), Japan Cement Association (Japan), VDZ (Germany), British Cement Association (United Kingdom), and CIF (Australia). Communication Partners include Cement Federations (Associations) who have agreed to help communicate about the initiative with their membership.
