Berlin, 19 April 2018
The silver and gold level certification with the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) will be recognized in the responsible sourcing credit of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) 2018 version for sustainable construction.
Johannes Kreissig, Managing Director of DGNB made the welcomed announcement at the official kick-off event of the CSC in Berlin, Germany, co-hosted by the German Ready-Mixed Association (BTB) and DGNB.
The decision was made after a thorough evaluation of the CSC standard against the DGNB’s own criteria for this kind of certification. The formal recognition by DGNB underlines once again the credibility of the CSC certification and allows certified plants to offer additional tangible value to their clients. The recognition is for the period of one year in which further alignment of the DGNB requirements and CSC criteria will take place.
This is an important milestone for the CSC, which shows the increasing importance of responsible sourcing of construction materials.
News story first published on the CSC website. The CSC Certificate helps concrete, cement and aggregate companies obtain insight in the level to which a company operates in an environmentally, socially and economically responsible way.
