Key Performance Indicators

The importance of local impacts was recognised in the CSI’s Agenda for Action. The majority of core members are now providing data; and co-operation with local communities and other interested stakeholders has increased significantly.

  • Community engagement and biodiversity programs have increased
  • The majority of quarry sites now have rehabilitation plans in place

The KPI on biodiversity was updated by CSI members in early 2009, to ensure that more information is available on the biodiversity activities carried out at quarries. The KPI has been divided into two and reporting on these will begin in 2009:

KPI 1: Number of active quarries within, containing or adjacent to areas designated for their high biodiversity value (as defined by GRI EN11)

KPI 2: % of sites with high biodiversity value (according to KPI 1) where biodiversity management plans are actively implemented
