All member companies acknowledge that 83 fatalities in 2006 is too far many and are striving to improve their performance. Their ultimate aim is achieve zero injuries and fatalities - ambitious but achievable targets.

α  Following limitations on data reporting, this figure reflects 2005 data as reported by 17 CSI member companies under the "Getting the Numbers Right" (GNR) initiative.
