The Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) has published the 2010 data on cement industry CO2 emissions and energy performance from its “Getting the Numbers Right” project. The data, along with previous years information, is available on www.wbcsdcement.org/co2data.
This is the 6th year that GNR information has been published, making it the leading source of information on the cement industry and it drives to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency. The 2010 data covers 930 individual facilities producing 827 million tonnes cement. This comprises 25% of global cement production. Furthermore, a significant 79% of the data is verified independently at the participating company level making the data base a reliable source of information for companies, research organisations, policy makers and individuals interested in the broad issue of carbon emissions.
