Effective management of carbon dioxide emissions is key to climate protection. The CSI member companies have made steady progress in tackling the industry’s carbon footprint, with consistent yearly improvements in reducing their CO2 emissions per tonne of product. CSI members are required to have their CO2 data audited and verified by an independent third party.

The 11 CSI core members are reporting fully according to the “CO2 and Energy Accounting and Reporting Standard for the Cement Industry” and have made substantial reductions in specific emissions, with newer members working towards the same goal.
